Driveways

A residential driveway (including paved walkways and curbs that run parallel to the driveway) shall have a maximum width as follows:

 

Maximum Driveway width:                                  

If your lot has a width of:

4.9 m (16 ft)

Less than 8.23 m (27 ft)

5.2 m (17 ft)

Equal to or more than 8.23 m (27 ft) but less than 9.14 m (30 ft)

6.71 m (22 ft)

Equal to or more than 9.14 m (30 ft) but less than 15.24 m (50 ft)

7.32 m (24 ft)

Equal to or more than 15.24 m (50 ft) but less than 18.3 m (60 ft)

9.14 (30 ft) or the width of the garage

Equal to or more than 18.3 m (60 ft)

6.71 m (22 ft) or the width of the garage

For driveways on the side lot line of any lot

 

In addition, you must maintain 0.6 metres (2 feet) of landscaping between your driveway (paved surface) and the property line for drainage purposes.  Please contact Zoning Services at ZoningInquiries@brampton.ca to find out about how wide your driveway may be if you own a pie-shaped, irregular or corner lot as additional restrictions may apply.
