The City of Brampton recognizes
the unique and valuable role that the non-profit sector plays in delivering
projects that meet community needs and complement City services. The Advance
Brampton Fund is a community granting program that supports non-profit sector
development and provides municipal funding to eligible Brampton-based
non-profit or charitable organizations for strong project proposals that align
with the following priority areas:
- Brampton is a Mosaic
- Brampton is a Healthy and
Safe City
- Brampton is a Green City
Brampton Non-Profit & Charitable Sector Development Learning Series
The Advance Brampton Fund in partnership with The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Toronto Metropolitan University is presenting a limited online seminar series to support the development and growth of the non-profit and charitable sectors in Brampton.
The 2023 program year will offer 8 seminars covering topics that range from fundraising to governance to strategic planning. All of these sessions will be delivered virtually. Links to sessions will be emailed to participants the morning of the session. Sessions are offered only once. Available Funding Streams
The 2023 Advance Brampton Fund offers three funding streams:
Funding to be allocated: $200,000
Eligible Organizations: Registered Charities, Incorporated Non-Profits and Unincorporated Non-Profit Groups
Maximum Availble Grant: Up to $5,000
Application Intake: Open: April 3, 2023 | Deadline: May 3, 2023 | Announcements: June 2023
Project Types: This stream of funding is designed to support new programs, programs with a small budget or innovative components of existing larger budget programs.
Developing - CLOSED
Funding to be allocated: $300,000
Eligible Organizations: Registered Charities and Incorporated Non-Profits
Maximum Available Grant: Between $5,001 and $12,500 in matching project funds to a maximum of 50% of project expenses.
Application Intake: Annually; Open: October 3rd, 2022 | Deadline: November 25th, 2022 | Announcements: January 2023
Project Types: This stream of funding is designed to support a program that has been run successfully at least once in Brampton. Funding is provided to help develop the project’s work, audience, impact and/or reach.
Amplifying - CLOSED
Funding to be allocated: $300,000
Eligible Organizations: Registered Charities, Incorporated Non-Profits
Maximum Available Grant: Between $12,501 and $25,000 in matching project funds to a maximum of 50% of project expenses
Application Intake: Annually; Open: October 3rd, 2022 | Close: November 25th, 2022 | Announcements: January 2023
Project Types: This stream of funding is designed to support a program that has been run at least twice before in Brampton. Funding is provided to help amplify the project’s work, audience, impact and/or reach.
All Streams
Applicants who have received a Developing or Amplifying Grant can apply to the Emerging Stream with a unique projects. Projects already funded through the Developing or Amplifying stream are ineligible in the Emerging Stream.
All applicant organizations must carry $2,000,000 in Commercial General Liability Insurance from the time the application is submitted until the end of the project duration as outlined within the application.
All projects must take place between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2023

2023 Advance Brampton Fund Guidelines
Before starting or submitting an application to the Advance Brampton Fund please consult the 2023 Advance Brampton Fund Guidelines which outline all of the eligibility criteria and necessary supporting documentation. Applicants are responsible for ensuring they have provided all of the documentation needed to support their application at the time of submission.
Applications
How to Access Applications:
- Click on the 'APPLY NOW' button above.
- Use your Advance Brampton Fund Grants Portal login information or create a user account using the 'Login' and 'Register' buttons in the top right corner of the screen.
- Once logged your "My Applications" screen will show. This screen shows previously submitted applications and any open or unfinished applications returning users have to complete. It will also include any 2021 Close Out Reports that are still pending.
- Click 'Programs' in the top right corner of the screen.
- This screen shows all of the open granting streams. Select the one you wish to apply to (2023 Developing or 2023 Amplifying) and click 'Start'. At this time the application will launch.
