Brampton Non-Profit & Charitable Sector Development Learning series

The Advance Brampton Fund in partnership with The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Toronto Metropolitan University is presenting a limited online seminar series to support the development and growth of the non-profit and charitable sectors in Brampton.

Grant Writing Strategies and Best Practices

Course Description This session will cover strategies and best practices to follow when writing grants and grant applications. It will cover the grants process and include examples taken from various funding applications (i.e. Trillium and United Way).

Program Evaluation and Impact Measurement

Course Description This seminar will provide insights into understanding the need for a program within a community, and researching how programs impact a community in both the short and long term. For example, a food bank may measure short-term impact through the number of pounds of food it provides to users, and may measure longer-term outcomes by considering the ways that food provision impacts those they serve through better nutrition, and/or the easing of financial burden. The seminar will also introduce quantitative and qualitative methods and tools for investigating impact, and discuss how organizations can improve, or start, evaluations of their projects and programs.
