*Earth Day 2023 Environmental Celebration at Norton Place Park - April 22*

​The City of Brampton in collaboration with the Brampton Environmental Alliance is hosting the second annual Earth Day event on Saturday, April 22nd from 12 pm to 4 pm at Norton Place Park, 170 Clark Blvd.

Registration for food is closed - drop by the event, no registration is required!

​This is a free family-friendly event including:

  • A Climate Change Exhibition featuring speakers, a live mural painting, and a showcase of climate-related artwork created by residents to engage the community on the City's first Climate Change Adaptation Plan. ​
  • Norton Forest Walk: Join the TRCA at 2:30pm to learn about the Forest Restoration and Management Plan for Norton Place Park
  • Kids Zone: Make your own pollinator seed balls, paint a leafy master piece or trace your eco footprint
  • Join the litter clean-up
  • Observe local wildlife with Nature Bingo and entire the draw for a chance to win an Ontario Parks Pass
  • Festival showcasing environmental leadership across the City of Brampton.

​Sacred Fire Ceremony

Opening: 12 - 12:30 | Closing: 3:30-4

Gokoomis (Grandmother) Vivan​ and Dr. Hopi Martin from Edge of the Bush will be facilitating an opening and closing ceremony with a sacred fire. They will be accompanied by Oshkaabewis (Sacred Helper) Tabitha Shurgold, Fire Keeper Josh Recollet, and Water Walkers and Singers. ​


A free lunch will be provided upon registration for a food voucher - Food voucher capacity has been reached. Redeem your food voucher by 2:30pm or it will be given to waitlisted registrants.

Registration to attend the event is not required - please drop by!


Getting to Norton Place Park

To celebrate Earth Day, please bike, walk or take public transit to support sustainable actions for Earth Day. Parking is limited.

Join one of four BikeBrampton-led rides to the event here ​or visit www.bikebrampton.ca/events/​ ​for more information. Extra bike racking will be avaialble at Norton Place Park. All ride leave at 10:15am. Ride-In registration closes on Thursday, April 20 at 11:30pm.

Parks Cleanup Program: April 1 - November 1

Knightsbridge Park Community Clean up hosted by Ecosource: April 15

The Program helps remove litter that has accumulated, promotes community engagement, and creates healthy vibrant spaces.

Earth Day Tree Planting Event: April 22

​In partnership with the Toronto Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), the City is hosting a free tree planting event on Saturday, April 22 from 9:30am to 12pm at Gore Meadows Community Centre, 10150 The Gore Road. This event will take place rain or shine. Please dress for the weather and come prepared with closed-toed and gloves. Registration is required as spots are limited. Earth Day Community Tree Planting, hosted by CVC: April 23

Join us as we plant native trees and shrubs along Huttonville Creek in Andrew McCandless Park on Sunday, April 23rd from 9am - 12pm. Trees help fight climate change by storing carbon dioxide and providing natural cooling on hot summer days. They also create habitat for local wildlife and add beauty to your community.
