In 2018, the City of Brampton launched the Natural Heritage Restoration Program (NHRP) to which focuses on protecting, restoring, connecting and enhancing the health and biodiversity of its Natural Heritage System.
A primary goal of the program is to manage Brampton’s natural features to maximize the ecosystem services they provide. The Program allows the City to identify and prioritize areas for restoration or enhancement. The Program also focus on partnerships with Conservation Authorities, community groups and residents.
The Natural Heritage Restoration Program helps achieve the goals and targets of the Brampton Grow Green Environmental Master Plan, and the Natural Heritage and Environmental Management Strategy.
