The City uses data analytics (also known as business intelligence) to assist with evidence-based decision making. Data analytics are critical to:
- Transparency and objectivity in decision making;
- Efficiency, automation and scalability;
- Powering citizen-centric services; and,
- Digital-first and smart cities initiatives.
The City is currently implementing a data governance strategy that will ensure that personal information in City records can be appropriately anonymized to support business intelligence activities. Questions on data analytics may be directed to
