Council Approved Development Charges By-laws Effective: August 1, 2019
The City of Brampton Development Charges (DC) By-laws, DC rates and policies were approved by Council on June 19, 2019, and came into effect on August 1, 2019. The rates are subject to semi-annual indexing and are adjusted on February 1 and August 1 of each year using the Statistics Canada Quarterly, Non-Residential Building Construction Price Index, as prescribed by the
Development Charges Act. Please refer to the “DC Rates” section below for the current rates that are in effect.
Payment of Development Charges:
Development charges are payable to the City of Brampton, where payment must be made by cash, certified cheque or bank draft, in accordance with the City’s DC By-laws. DCs are payable prior to the release of a plan of subdivision for registration and/or, prior to release of building permits. Applicants should contact the City of Brampton’s Capital and Development Finance Branch in the Corporate Services Department for more information.

Payment of development charges must be made by cash, certified cheques or bank draft. Company or personal cheques will not be accepted.

admin.development@brampton.ca at least four hours prior to arriving at our service counter, to avoid processing delays.
