Community Support

The Nurturing Neighbourhoods Program is an initiative within the Community Safety & Well-Being Office, at the City of Brampton. It is an innovative way to engage Brampton residents and encourage civic community building. Through the Nurturing Neighbourhoods Program, residents have the opportunity to play an active role, and even take the lead, in shaping the future of their neighbourhood.

This city wide campaign is held annually to provide the community with the information they need on the dangers of carbon monoxide and important information about fire safety. The initiative includes education and activities throughout the city on preventative measures for residents and businesses.

Emergency Preparedness Week is part of an enhanced public awareness campaign to educate renters – specifically young adults, newcomers, single parents, people with disabilities living independently and our vulnerable population – that preparedness starts with them. The Emergency Preparedness Week Campaign aims to encourage Brampton residents to buy content insurance for their household items and maintain an emergency kit that keeps them and their families self-sufficient for at least 72 hours until further help arrives.
