IMPORTANT NOTICE: Insurance Provisions

In response to economic conditions within the Insurance Industry, the Corporation of the City of Brampton developed an Insurance Policy, approved by City Council on March 24, 2003.

The policy makes sure that insurance providers meet a minimum standard of 'B+' as rated by A.M. Best, 'baa' as rated by Moody's or 'BBB' as rated by Standard Poor's.

All insurance certificates that the City holds will be honoured until they expire, when the City requires insurance providers to renew policies and meet the insurance policy standards.

The City also requires developers to have pollution/environmental liability coverage as part of each subdivision agreement.

Adult Entertainment Establishment, Certificate of Insurance	Requires proof of $2 million Commercial General Liability insurance.
Certificate of Insurance Template for Services (IT,Consulting & Others)	Requires proof of $2 million Professional Liability Insurance, $3 million Commercial General Liability showing the Corporation of the City of Brampton added as an additional insured, and $2 million Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance.
Certificate of Insurance Template for Goods & Construction	Requires proof of $3 million Commercial General Liability showing the Corporation of the City of Brampton added as an additional insured, and $2 million Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance.
Facility Rental External Certificate of Insurance Form	Requires users of City facilities who have entered into a rental agreement to have their broker complete the attached form as evidence of the required mandatory liability insurance coverage.
Facility Rental Insurance Certificate ($5 million liability coverage)	Provides users of City facilities that have entered into a rental agreement with proof of $5 million general liability insurance coverage.
Farmer's Market Application Certificate of Insurance	Requires proof of $2 million General Liability insurance showing the Corporation of the City of Brampton as an additional insured
Film Permit Application Certificate of Insurance	Requires proof of $2 million Commercial General Liability Insurance showing the Corporation of the City of Brampton added as an additional insured
Mobile Licensing Certificate of Insurance	Requires proof of $2 million Commercial General Liability and $2 million Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance
Mobile (Vehicle for Hire) Licensing Certificate of Insurance	Requires proof of $5 million Commercial General Liability and $2 million Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance
Real Estate Certificate of Insurance	Requires proof of $3 million Commercial General Liability Insurance and $500 thousand Tenant's Legal Liability Insurance showing the Corporation of the City of Brampton as an additional insured
Road Occupancy and Driveway Widening Certificate of Insurance	Requires $3 million Commercial General Liability and $1 million Motor Vehicle Liability
Sign Permit Certificate of Insurance	Requires $2 million Commercial General Liability Insurance showing the Corporation of the City of Brampton as an additional insured.
Site Plan Insurance Certificate	Requires $3 million in Commercial General Liability and $1 million in Motor Vehicle Liability
Stationary Business Licensing Certificate of Insurance	Requires proof of $2 million Commercial General Liability Insurance
Subdivision Insurance Certificate	Requires $5 million in Commercial General Liability, $5 million in Environmental Pollution Liability, and $1 million in Motor Vehicle Liability
