HEALTH & SAFETY PARAMETERS: SKATE​


​Enhanced Safety Measures

  • Skate Aids will be available at all facilities and will be sanitized after each use.
  • Participants  may use their own skate aids provided that the device is a manufactured skate aid (homemade teaching aids are prohibited).
  • Those using skate aids must wear a CSA certified hockey helmet with full face mask.
To prevent community spread of COVID-19 and emerging variants, Peel Public Health has updated its guidance and recommendations regarding the use of masks. These recommendations were approved by Brampton City Council on June 16, 2021:

  • Non-medical masks are mandatory until the end of April 1, 2022.
  • With a few exceptions, all individuals entering a public indoor premise in Brampton are required to wear a non-medical mask that covers the nose, mouth and chin.
  • Face coverings (i.e. scarves, bandanas, neck gaiters/warmers etc.) are no longer permitted.
  • Masks with exhalation valves are no longer permitted.
  • Masks may only be removed for consumption of food or drink if an individual is seated in a designated area for that purpose​.

Plan Your Visit

  • Arrive dressed and ready to skate.
  • Arrive ready and dressed ten minutes before the scheduled start time of the program.
  • Masks will not be required while exercising, swimming or skating.

GENERAL SAFETY PARAMETERS​ AT RECREATION CENTRES​

  • Proof of vaccination requirements are extended to all visitors 12 years of age and older entering City of Brampton Recreation Centres. This will apply to all participants and spectators in recreation centres, including youth, coaches, instructors, caregivers, volunteers  and game officials.​
  • Additional sanitization stations have been made available throughout all facilities.
  • Members of the public over the age of two are required to wear a non-medical mask in all areas of the Recreation Centre and when it is not possible to physical distance from others.  Non-medical​ masks will not be required while exercising, swimming or skating.
  • Participants are encouraged to limit the amount of time spent in the Recreation Centre after the program is complete.
  • Staff are required to wear a non-medical mask.
  • Staff are required to complete COVID-19 screening 30 minutes prior to the start of each shift.​
