Municipal, Regional, Provincial and Federal Responsibilities

The City of Brampton is one of four levels of government providing services for residents.

  • Responsibilities and contact information are provided below for each of them.

Local government services are funded primarily by property taxes. 'User fees' or other 'non-tax revenue' such as parking fines are other ways local governments can generate revenue. The province also provides some funding.

Call 311 anytime you have a question about municipal services.  It is available in many languages, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Interpretation is available.​
