Purpose:
- The Community Environment & Noise Advisory Committee (CENAC) will provide a consultative/communication forum for community stakeholders to meet with Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) Management and other aviation community representatives.
- The committee will discuss issues relating to the mitigation of aircraft noise in the community and the operation of Toronto Pearson International Airport in an environmentally responsible manner.
Mandate
- Act in an advisory capacity to the GTAA on all issues relating to Toronto Pearson's noise management and environment policies
- Provide a forum for the discussion of noise and environment-related matters
- Decide on the best methods of distributing information to stakeholders and stakeholder groups on an issue-by-issue basis
- Actively seek the opinions of constituents on noise-related matters and to represent these concerns in the committee forum
- Disseminate the results of committee discussions to constituent bodies
- Promote the objectives of the Authority respecting all aspects of noise and environment management
- Make recommendations to the GTAA Chief Executive Office and/or appropriate committee for consideration
The CENAC will advise on matters related to but not limited to the following:
- Aircraft operating procedures impacting aircraft noise
- Examination of alternatives for noise mitigation
- Investigation of aircraft noise violations
- Municipal land use
- Review of GTAA environmental programs and adherence to ISO targets
- Examination of potential environmentally sensitive measures

-One elected official, one resident, and one appointed at Council discretion
City of Mississauga (4):
-Two elected officials, two residents
City of Toronto (3):
-One elected official, one resident, and one appointed at Council discretion
Halton Region, York Region, Durham Region (3 total):
- EACH with one representative at Region's discretion
Term of Office:
Each nominating body will set the term of membership with a suggested minimum of two years.

Meetings:
Meetings will be held five to six times per year, at 4 p.m. at the GTAA Administration Building, 3111 Convair Drive, Toronto AMF, L5P 1B2, in boardrooms Pearson A & B.
